Registration is open.
All those wishing to attend the conference, regardless of role - whether presenting, convening, discussing, listening - must register online and in advance. This does not necessitate paying at that time; registrations are manually checked and an invoice sent to delegates including payment instructions. Having received the invoice, delegates should pay within 30 days.
Conference registration includes access to the opening ceremony, the keynotes/plenaries, panel sessions, the film programme, workshops, the book exhibit, tea/coffee during the morning and afternoon breaks and events and exhibitions. All delegates will also be given a printed conference programme.
Opening Club night event
There will be an Opening Club night event, which takes place at the Potterow on Tuesday 11th June from 9pm until 1am. There will be a band (Kobi Onyame) followed by other bands/DJs - all with an African 'theme'. This event helps to kick off the conference after the IAI Biennial lecture. We have now allocated all the (free) tickets for this. However enquire on arrival if interested to attend, as no doubt many requesting when they registered will not use it then.
There is a discounted rate for 'concessions'. The concessionary rate is for students (those studying Bachelors, Masters, PhD or other postgrad qualifications), those without an income/unemployed and those affiliated to African institutions. (The conference organisers may follow-up as to your reasons for selecting the concession category. The spirit of this is that those with higher incomes help subsidise those with lower incomes.)
This conference does not offer day registrations: delegates must register for the full conference, regardless of how many days they are able to attend.
Registration fees (late phase) are:
Full rate: £225
Concession rate: £155
Invoices will be in the name of the host institution (University of Edinburgh), however fees are to be paid to the conference organisers (NomadIT Events Ltd) who will hold the income on the University's behalf.
Registrations cancelled (notifying us by email) more than three weeks before the conference will be refunded, less a small amount to cover administrative and finance costs. Cancellations made within three weeks of the event will br ineligible for such a refund, due to costs already incurred. Refunds at that point will be discretionary.
Accommodation should be booked separately. We are able to offer student hall accommodation and some discounts on University hotels. See the accommodation page for full details.
